Who We Are
Bethesda Medical Mission Inc. is a humanitarian group of Christian medical professionals and volunteers united by a commitment to serve others by following the example of Jesus.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering health and wellness services at no cost. We are able to serve our communities locally and abroad because of the continued generosity and support of individuals and corporations. Although many of our volunteers are Seventh-day Adventist Christians from the Connecticut area, we welcome individuals interested in serving regardless of religious affiliation.
Mission
Our mission is to share God’s mercy and love through compassionate medical and dental care and to assist in the education and socio-economic development of global citizens who are less fortunate.
The Origin of Our Name
Our founders chose the name “Bethesda,” which means house of mercy, based on the story depicted in the Bible (John : 5) of a disabled man, lying by the pool of Bethesda for nearly 38 years. Jesus simply asked, “Do you want to get well?“
Jesus’ compassionate and merciful nature commanded the man to take up his mat and walk and instantly the man was healed. This story reminds us that we are all recipients of God’s mercy and our aim is to extend that mercy to others in need.
